Problem: For the 2022-2023 school year my culture of readers team is trying to solve the problem of kids not knowing what to read after finishing a book they love.

 

Target Audience: Our target audience is 5th and 6th Graders. To prove this problem exists we need to collect data. To do this we created a survey. 

Questions and Data Collecting: Our first question was what type of genres do you like? This information would help us create a basis on their reading preferences and would help us understand what they love to read therefore helping us give them suggestions. For example, if they chose Mystery we would use that data to recommend something using the next questions. Our second question was what Authors do you like to read from?  This would help us understand what types of author’s they like Stuart Gibbs which would give us more information on what books they read and recommend books from similar authors and genres to find them a good book. Each author would branch off into a different section which helped us organize our information and how many books of that author they have read and to recommend books that they haven’t read yet like if you have read Space Case by Stuart Gibbs you should also check out Charlie Thorne and the last equation by Stuart Gibbs. Our final question would be asking for a few of your favorite books which would help us understand what in their opinion a good book is and recommend books that are similar to their preference.
